Taiwan Day 2 — Taoyuan

Continuing my Taiwan post from ...

http://linayee.blogspot.sg/2016/05/taiwan-day-1-taoyuan.html

So glad for the morning because the weather was slightly better (warmer because of the sun). We left his apartment at around 11 am for brunch at a random eatery. Everyone knows my Chinese sucks. So I have no idea what I was gonna order. But the moment I saw the word 魚 as seen in the picture, I decided to order that because I love fish!

Was a little confused when the bowl was presented in front of me because I was expecting fish meat instead of.. pork?? Little did I know that this was the moment I fell head over heels in LOVE with this I have no idea how and why but it's so HEAVENLY. The way the meat melts in the mouth. Omg. I'm missing it so much now. :(

I actually had a teeny weeny bit of difficulty trying to find the first 滷肉飯 (lu rou fan) picture that I had eaten because over the course of two and a half weeks, I ate quite a lot of bowls of it.

And the best part? This particular bowl was only 25 TWD. Wthell right?! That's only about a dollar plus SGD. And apparently most places are selling it at around 25 - 40 TWD only! The funniest thing is that it's my third time in Taiwan and I've never had it the past two trips?!

Ok, I should stop harping about the rice. But please go try it if you are heading to Taiwan! It's by far my favourite dish throughout my trip.

I also got myself an easycard. Oli and I were in a hurry so we hurriedly purchased the card. I was quite upset that there were a lot more cuter designs than my standard boring zebra stripes card. T_T

We took a bus to Daxi Old Street. Apparently was a recommended place to visit, however it was quite a deserted area.

Climbing down the stairs was okay, but back up was ...

Psst, it's a different temple from the one above!

We walked and we walked and found some farms where there were rice crops.

Then we also saw an area with a few washing boards. Since the area was pretty countryside-ish, i'll assume that the villagers really do use the washing boards to wash their clothing?

Snap some pictures, had 干面 (gan mian) and we left the place.

Idk why the picture looks like spaghetti bolognese but that's the gan mian.

Oli needed to get some fish food so he brought me to a pet shop! It's a pretty big pet shop selling various animals like really cute white mice, hedgehog, crickets and even SNAKES!

Super adorable right?!

And apparently uber is banned in Taiwan. And people are going to say im crazy for saying that because my friends did debate with me over the ban. But it's true la guys. IT IS BANNED, don't ask me why. Go google yourself. But ya, despite the ban, we uber back to Oli's apartment. Continue watching Amazing Race for awhile before we went down for Oli to get ingredients for dinner!

He actually forgotten that I cannot eat beef and bought beef! But that's okay because the meal was actually really good!

The day ended and that was actually my last night in taoyuan!

Till then!

Crazy for DIY

Shall blog while I can. Hehehe, I've been wanting to share with you all the process of the minion doll house making right ?

My posts are soooo not consistent. Suddenly talk about miniatures then hop to my Taiwan trip and back to miniatures.

So continuing to where I left off, J and I only managed to cut out the prints but have not gotten down and dirty with the gluing part yet. This is actually my second time doing a doll house (kinda second time but I didn't complete the first). And I swear, first times are the messiest because I had to figure which glue works best on which material. And using the wrong glue like white glue for cloth would create a wet mess that takes a reaaaaaally long time to dry.

J fixing the wardrobe on the double decked bed. I swear that the stairs for the top bed was the most troublesome part.

This picture depicts a completed bed frame (Yay! It's also quite annoying to do.), wallpaper and frames up and we are about to get started on the cloth materials which includes the bedding, pillows and stuff.

Making the pillows weren't easy because we didn't bother using needle and thread (which might make the job a lot easier than gluing the pillow together). J worked with the fabrics while I focused on the miniature furniture.

Snap of two seats, a box of minion posters (REAL ADORABLE POSTER DESIGNS, I actually used loom bands as rubber bands to hold the shape of rolled up posters.), a bottle with wires hanging out that are meant for the lamps later on and a really cute minion plushie.

It's sooooo cute that I was actually really excited to make it. But oh god, it was so tough because of the tiny details like the 6 strip of hair on his head.I dropped one of it and had a really hard time finding it.

Our final product actually look really similar to the one displayed on the box. I would say that it's a job well done! Go back to the post http://linayee.blogspot.sg/2016/05/miniature-dollhouses.html and you'll see that we did a pretty good job right? Hehehe. Last last Friday was J's brother birthday and we gave it to him already!

I've been doing other craft stuff over the past few days. Not sure if I would wanna blog about my crafting adventures but i'll probably be doing something about it! ^^

Taiwan Day 1 — Taoyuan

I'm finally getting down to blog about my trip to Taiwan! Kinda drafted up the post but since I've yet to upload my photos to my computer (due to some hiccups with my OS) for the past few weeks, I refuse to publish this post. You've probably seen my instagram feed with my Taiwan photos but not sure where I've been or what I've done throughout my backpacking trip to Taiwan right? So here's a quick run thru of what happened.

I booked my trip intending to backpack around Taiwan with no plans ahead of me. Just a destination to conquer and a strike off my life goals. Then... on a supper nights out with my friends, we all discovered that we are heading to Taiwan around the same period of time?! I decided to join Jiahao and his friend, Eric on their trip abandoning half my plan (of having no plans). But despite having no real plan,I still had to reschedule a couple of my stays with some of my host and rejecting a couple of them. And in exchange of a planned trip throughout the stay. Pros and cons I guess. But it's definitely more fun to be travelling with friends right?

I decided to join them on a trip around the entire Taiwan only on 1 April.

So let's start off with the day I left Singapore! It was 27 March 2016 and Justus sent me to the airport, I couldn't bare to leave him and neither could he. It had been a torturous 18 days without him although I did have my fun in Taiwan. Thank god for Skype!

(Here's J carrying my backpack, refusing to let me carry because its heavy. keke.)

Backpack is actually dad's. I did order a 50L one online but it didn't arrive until April. :(

Did I mention he made me a jar of notes for me to read. 18 in total, 1 for each day. And i'll open it every night before I sleep.

(Since the bottle is too bulky for my backpack, I brought the 18 notes to Taiwan in a ziploc bag.)

My flight was scheduled to depart at 3:55pm but there was a flight delay and it only flew off at 5:10pm! Guys, that is what you get for opting budget airline. I was flying on tigerairways because I don't really see a point on the extra cost of a better quality airline. You see, it's only a 4.5 hours flight, i'm the kind who can sleep wherever so I pretty much would sleep the whole flight. If you're talking about comfort, I would say that i'm quite petite so I don't need much room for my legs, it's definitely comfortable enough for me to travel alone.

(Cup noodles always taste a little tastier on planes.)

Touched down Taoyuan International Airport at 9:40pm. Did I mention I was couchsurfing? I swear it's a whole new experience for me and really opened my tiny little life. My first host was Oliver, he was so super nice to meet me at the arrival hall. The first thing I did was of cos, get myself a data plan! My trip was 18 days but it's either I get a 15 days 4G data plan or a 30 days 3G data plan. Obviously I would rather 4G, it's faster isn't it? Although locals say there is not much of a difference, but since there is a difference in SG, i'll go the SG way.

Oli cabs everywhere. He claims that comparing the price of cabbing in Taiwan to Singapore, it is way cheaper and more convenient. Before my arrival, he told me he will be making crepes. I was so excited because I loooooove crepes. How else would my abandoned instagram account be renamed pinkcrepes as well as my steam IGN? So I watched him made and tried to make one my own. The batter was enough for 8 pieces. It's actually really filling! I had only 3 pieces with nutella spread. He was showing me the various TV applications he had on his smart TV and we ended up watching survivor and amazing race through the night.

The weather was pretty darn cold. I had to keep my parka that Justus bought for me on the entire day even when I slept because that was just how cold it is! I love how thin my parka was and it still manage to keep me warm. Fell asleep at 3 and had to wake up around 9 am!

(Toilet selfie with my Parka!)

There isn't much content on the places I went as it's basically me arriving in Taiwan. From next post on, i'll be sharing on the places I went!

Miniature dollhouses!

Woken up to the sound of the doorbell because J came over to find me! Opened the door and lazed in bed for awhile before we got our asses ready to get crafty!

Drum rolls........

And we are going to work on the minion miniature dollhouse kit! Because J's brother love minion so we decide to make this collectible for him!

Here's the box , showing us what the dollhouse (room) will look like after completion. Pretty promising isn't it?

You must be wondering what's in the kit right?

You guessed it! Everything has to be done from SCRATCH! They provide the materials and we gotta use our nifty fingers to cut and glue the materials together!

First up , an instruction booklet (I swear the instructions are super detailed so even a 10 years old can help with your craft!) , beads (with super useful functions you never knew you can create mini furniture with them!), cloth (mainly to make pillows, bed linen & sheets), some wires, pillow stuffings and even glue!

Also, without these wooden pieces, the bed cannot be formed! (Forgotten to snap a pic of the wooden pieces that are used for the walls and flooring)

There's also a pretty large sheet of prints that needs to be cut out to form and complete the adorable minion room.

Because J & I had to attend vivi's 21st birthday at night, we only had time to cut out the prints. So we left everything else to Sunday and went to the birthday.

So yup! *teleports to venue*

Really happy to be able to see the girls again. Our froyo moment that night felt pretty nostalgic of our Grunge chalet days. Haha! And not forgetting the boys, it was nice to see them after sooo long! ^^ Happy birthday to vivi! It's her actual day today!

I'll continue about our DIY journey hopefully tomorrow!

Miniatures

It's a public holiday today! Started off the morning with nasi lemak from lee wee brother's that my parents bought for us. Then lazed at home with Justus playing slither.io for half the morning. It's super duper addictive I swear! HAHAHA

We could play for hours and hours. The other day, we were on the phone discussing about the game while playing it for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Crazy HAHAH. And he have work the next day!

Anyway, after playing, we had the idea to play with popin' cookin' takoyaki kit!

This is how it looks like! (Picture from Pinterest)
We didn't have a microwave oven, cos I make an egg burst in the old one so we threw it away, so we tried our luck with the conventional oven. It took much much longer to "cook" the tako balls.
And we got so into making the tako balls that we ended up creating more than just the balls!
We went ahead and created a few "bowls" , skewers, spoon, chopsticks and even the fake grass HAHAHA.
So here is our final product with two sets of takoyaki and the small bowl behind is mashed potatoes (can't really be seen from this view though).

Yes and the sushi is real HAHAH. We didn't waste food okay? Gobbled it down right after the shots were taken.

So that's how we spent labor day holiday! Really do enjoy chill days like this. ^^

TV DAY!

Two months back my dad bought the smart TV and I swear it brings television to a whole new level! The moment I got hooked onto the computer, I hardly find myself at the television.

But because of YouTube , Internet and Netflix (free trial HAHA) I found myself using more of it after we got the TV!

Today, Justus & I got on Netflix and watched Walt before Mickey and The Social Network. Because I wanted to watch them HEHE. I've always wanted to watch The Social Network and I finally did! Yay. They were great movies! Inspirational, definitely. Glad we bought chips the day before!

After the movies, we went on channel 8 and watched some local dramas and then star awards 2016! Haven't really sat down to watched it and I realize local drama are actually not bad? (At least from the short clips that I saw just now)

Maybe I'll go on toggle to watch some of them like 118 and dream maker! Haven't seen them yet.

Yeah and my Taiwan trip posts will be up soon I promise! (Once I stop being lazy)

I'm back again!

Hello everyone. I am back on blogger again! This time, not sure how long I will be staying on this platform though. Everyone knows i'm always back for maybe one or two posts and i'll disappear for another few months before coming back again! But i'm pretty determined to stick around for some time for now. Yay?

I'm actually using back one of my old blog URLs god knows how long ago but the posts ( that i've already deleted because I realize I was a fraking rude bitch back then ) are dated back to 2008 which was is a wholly EIGHT years ago! Gosh, how much I have changed.

So anyway, from March 27 to April 13 I actually daringly went on a trip to Taiwan. First up, I booked the trip around end February and had been so overly excited for it because it's gonna be the first time i'm gonna be travelling ALONE! (At least thats what I thought)  It kinda feels pretty intimidating at first. I was up for a backpacking trip so I went ahead and got myself a new set of travel towel (really compact and convenient, I swear a normal towel is 5x its size), backpack (which didn't arrive until 2 days before I returned from my trip *rolls eye*) and other essentials.

Few days before I flew, found out that Jiahao was also going to be on a backpacking trip to Taiwan! So I conveniently joined in with him and his friend, Eric! I'll be posting more about the trip in a few posts to give a more detailed overview of how it went, from my experience staying in strangers house to joining the guys on the journey!

Yeah and god must have played a trick on me, making me fall in love just weeks before I depart Singapore. But i'm so ever thankful for my boyfriend for helping me prepare for my trip, from packing my bag and ensuring I had everything I needed, buying a parka for me because I really liked it, sending me off and everything he has ever done! Especially grateful for his patience of 17 nights.

Sorry for always being so wordy with no pictures. I promise Taiwan posts will be colorful. ^^

Time to set my resolutions of the year!

PINEAPPLE BURNS MY TONGUE

Opened the fridge at noon and saw some cubes of yellow goodness wrapped up in cling wrap. So I naturally thought they were mangoes because a few days back my dad sliced up a mango for me. Stole a bite and omg they were actually pineapples!

But they were not sour or anything. It was actually pretty nice and sweet so I took another plate and emptied half of the cubes onto my plate. Was enjoying my pineapples while YouTubing but after finishing my serving, I put my plate aside....

And my tongue started feeling prickly. It's super uncomfortable T_T. And since pineapples were the last thing I ate, I googled pineapples and prickly. And there were lots of similar experiences. Thank god I'm not the only one.

So today I learnt that pineapple contains a kind of enzyme, Bromelain, that digest protein. It is a kind of meat tenderizer. And it is kind of digesting my tongue!? Yuck gross.

One more takeaway from today's pineapple eating session is that I should never eat pineapple fresh anymore.

HAHAHA.

My first blood test

Today I went to the docs to check on my throat as I have been having this persistent sore throat for over 4.5 weeks. I've got a swell by the side and was told that I needed to do a blood test.

I was feeling in denial, like oh my gosh blood test?! I really wanted to know my blood type (although I'm suppose to be doing the test to check on blood count and smth) HAHA. But yeah I requested to know my blood type. Hmm, I'm actually pretty excited about it. People are always telling me "how come you don't know?! It's in your health booklet!" But goddam it . If it WAS in my health booklet obviously I wouldn't be so dumb that 20 years into my life I didn't know about it right...?

Ok so about the process. Is it just me or that I'm really afraid of needles but I do have a high tolerance of pain? So before the needle pokes in my skin, I was pretty jumpy about it. But like it really didn't feel like much. So 5ml of my blood was extracted and I felt extremely dizzy right after. Gosh, I can't ever imagine myself ever going for blood donation. I would probably faint after they drained 10ml of blood. But yeah my weight doesn't fall in the group that is allowed to donate blood.

Alright so that's my first blood test experience and overall it didn't hurt. And like friends have told me that you can feel the blood draining into the syringe but I didn't feel that at all? To anyone who would be going for a blood test in the future, don't be afraid! The most you're going to feel is really just a small ant bite. Yes that's what it felt like, an ant bite.

What a day

While the memory is still fresh in my head, I shall do up a post after almost half a year of this dead page.

So my day was pretty usual except that in the morning, I was almost at the bus stop and I realize that I didn't bring my wallet. So I had to walk all the way back and take it. Then the day was pretty usual.

Until I realize that I could not find my wallet after I ended work and had already left the compound. It didn't really bother me because I thought I left it at my workplace. Until the horrifying thought that came to my mind of me dropping my wallet at the bus stop. Because I thought its at my workplace, I didn't actually bothered to look around my surroundings when I was at the bus stop. ITS TOO LATE NOW

So I'm pretty stressed up right now, is my wallet at my workplace or did someone take it? Biggest worry is the number of cards I have to replace. Sigh. I really hope I hadn't lose it.

Ok and then I had to borrow $1.50 from a stranger which was pretty awkward and I felt really bad because she told me I don't have to return her. :( I wanted to bank transfer her though. Thank you kind soul. If you see this, please know that in really grateful.

Then I had to mail out registered mail and yup I didn't have any money on hand. Was meeting my best friend and needed her to come to my rescue. Except that the post office was supposed to close at 8pm and she only reached Tampines at 8:02pm. Hahaha thankfully the staffs waited for me. Love the people at Singpost. :-*

Ok then we ate at pastamania and the most heartbreaking thing is that I have a membership card but my wallet is not with me so... We missed out on the 15% off (my auntie traits emerging).

Ok that concludes my day! ☺️

100 moments I miss about High School

So today is back to school with Justin and we are back for the foooooood!

And because I'm from Holy Innocents' High School, it is okay for me to call it a High School. ;)

So first on my list....
I MISS THE FOOD!

2) Not having to set my alarm because mom will wake me up at 6:45am sharp everyday.

3) Mom sending me to school everyday without fail! (I swear I can count the number of times I take a bus to school with my 10 fingers

4) Being in 1/2 Diligence because that is where I met all my best friends.

5) That moment of how I met my best friend.

6) Those quarrels with kok and how close we are now.

7) Being in 3/4 Sincerity.

8) Changing seats with Shawn to sit with Weanee all the time in class.

9) History lessons with Beaunice and the retarded stuff we do like imitating MY's pikachu.

10) Because History lesson is the first lesson on our timetable, Quek and I will meet at McDonald's on Mondays and sneakily eat our burgers in class.

11) Cutting an incredibly cute boyish hairstyle that nobody likes HAHAHA.

12) Rebelling art teachers. I have no idea why all the art teachers seems to have something against me.

13) The Mrs Wee problem when she tried to confiscate my phone and my friends helped me get it back and we played hide & seek with her.

14) Suzieeeee! She's a really nice person if you actually talk to her.

15) Never altered my skirt before but I'll always roll up three folds.

16) Netball trainings, running up the stairs, jumping up the stairs and running around the parade square.

17) Sneaking to use phone in class. (What the heck now students can use their phones so freely

18) Going opposite school before remedial to eat my fav Pontian wanton mee that the aunties remembers me and how I always order fried wanton, soup noodles, no veg no meat.

19) Taking bus 72 home for the first three quarters of school until I realize that 27 could get me home quicker.

20) When Jenny Ang will always ask me to remove my ear sticks during assembly.

21) Not being able to wear PE during assembly. I was unlucky and got caught once and argued with the DM.

22) Feeling lazy for school and sending myself to the sick bay for my dad to send me home.

23) The power of writing parents letter whenever I don't feel like going to school!

24) There was once I was sleeping in class. And because I'm naturally fair, the teacher called my name and when I looked up, he told me to continue resting cos I looked sick.

25) My signature checkered pattern shoelaces!

26) My no make up look.

27) Hougang Plaza! I'm really sad that it's gone...

28) Running three rounds around the school for 2.4km. It's damn tough okay. The school is like built on a hill and there's this gradual slope up followed by a steep slope down.

29) Slacking at harmony park. (Hahah slacking

30) 830 Playground and the swing there!

31) Upper and Lower Courts where I'll be there to watch the guys play basketball.

32) Getting my bright red hair during one of the holidays.

33) My red hair faded and I went to school with my blonde streaks hidden behind my black hair within getting caught for months!

34) Those nicknames my friends gave me.

35) My teachers T.T especially the ones that are really inspiring.

36) Hanging out after school at void decks.

37) The free flow baguette slice at The Cafe Cartel which shut down midway while I was in high school.

38) Piercing my helix at a shop in hg mall called dong xi nan bei.

39) That rooftop "playground" we always used to hang around.

40) Those moments where girls stare at one another, talk things out and became friends.

41) Sitting at a corner of the class and neglecting my best friend :'( I'm so remorseful about it.

42) Wendy Ang. Oh my god, who would forget her. A few classes came together and wrote a petition about her.

43) Netball jokes and gossip sessions while the rest were training.

44) Getting caught for minor public display of affection when my then boyfriend merely put his arms around my shoulder outside school. NOTHING MORE!

45) Going to Church. I honestly miss those moments and after-service days where we eat our weekly dose of yu pian mee fen + milk and playing bridge.

46) Sports Day with the care group (NEC) every Friday.

47) Ordering the same food for the entire year and not getting sick of eating the same stuff. At the beginning, I had chu mee fen. And towards the upper secondary days were economic rice.

48) How Haymini would mix up Beaunice, Claris and I during home econs classes.

49) I used to have the nike spray water bottle which used to be the in thing and I am always losing them and buying a new one. The colors I remember having were baby pink, blue and black!

50) I have changed phone multiple times over just four years. I can't remember models but I've used Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, LG, Fake Apple, Apple.

51) And in secondary 2, I lost a phone that I bought just a day ago. I was so madly upset because it was my dream phone. And guess what, three years later, when I'm in Year 1 Poly, the police called and told me the culprit has been caught and the culprit had to cough up the sum of over $300 in cash to pay me. But what couldn't be retrieved was the memory in my memory card.

52) I miss the ballerina imprint behind D&T block. But now its been covered up already.

53) Getting praised by Home Econs teacher for making my own pancake batter when the truth is, I bought a premix that only requires egg and water. Hehe.

54) Valentines day where us girls will specially buy chocolates to give to everyone in class.

55) Changing into PE at the staircase because the toilet is too far away.

56) Singing the school creed during assembly periods.

57) The super fail self-proclaimed band that will sing on stage during events and make everyone leave the hall.

58) Sitting by the side of the hall closer to the fans because the middle is just too hot.

59) Then again, we always look forward to events because the school will turn on the airconditioning in the hall.

60) How chengguomei call our class as dilijor instead of diligence.

61) Entering the basement into the firing range once. Was rather creeped out by the empty darkness throughout.

62) How I used to be afraid of night walks during secondary 1. The friend I just knew was with me throughout holding on to me each time I scream and collapsed to the ground. That's why we are best friends till this date! ^^

63) Despite being streamed to different classes in upper secondary, my lower secondary classmates will still, always and forever be sitting together at the same table during recess.

64) And when another group of people occupies our seats.... Ok, we really just hated that.

65) I kind of love D&T lessons where we cut woods and acrylics and sandpaper the edges smooth.

66) Wastinga hundreds of paper just to print my home econs coursework report.

67) Learning how to play the guitar during music lesson.

68) The story of Oolong Tea that's been on repeat for the entire four years of high school.

69) I kind of like the back to school music where they would always play the song "welcome to the family ~".

70) Oh yes, right before assembly starts, they would always play a tune for us to get ready and settle down.

71) Newspaper reading every Monday. And I envy those classes that gets to read The Newpaper cos I don't like reading Straits Time cos it's too damn huge.

72) Doing CWO once for half an hour. Was supposed to serve detention but we bargained for it.

73) The making of a film for History class that I'm still really proud of it. But sadly, we have lost the video.

74) I miss playing pool at Hougang Plaza T_T

75) And that lanshop there too. My friends will always play DOTA and I'll be there with my audition.

76) Skipping school half the time when O levels was approaching because it is more productive to study elsewhere.

77) That elsewhere was meeting my primary school friend at night to study at McDonald's or sometimes in the afternoon at the library.

78) Hanging out at kok's house.

79) Doing service for the elderly, helping them clean their houses and providing them with necessities.

80) Flag days in town area as well as once where we walked from hougang to buangkok.

81) Being tested on singing the school song in lower secondary and failing badly because my school song is in Chinese.

82) Putting everything under our table.

83) The metal cupboard at the back of the class and how my classmates would accumulate lots of empty water bottles behind.

84) When my friends and I would play mahjong just two weeks before O's. And I miss how free we used to be that we can meet up ever so often.

85) Me and my goth moments. The piercings and the thick eyeliner.

86) Prom night :')

87) How I cried during graduation. :'(

88) Once during cross country a friend fell down, so I helped her up. And she ran ahead of me resulting in the placement of her being 10 and me 11. At that point I was wondering if I should ever help others in need. (Medals were only given to the top 10

89) That trip to Vietnam with the school. And how I was waiting for my friends in the guys room and how the teacher reprimanded me for being in a guys room and I talked back. She called my dad to complain about the situation. Her plans backfired and my dad ended up giving her a HUGEEE scolding. Oooooo ownage!

90) Something I will never miss is how HOT the classrooms are and I would always fidget around. (I love poly and the air conditioned tutorial rooms!)

91) Dreading the climb from level 1 to 4 to my classroom.

92) Teachers who release us early for recess!

93) I love excursions.

94) Jenny Ang and all her funny jokes that she will never ever laugh. I only remember seeing her laugh once.

95) Doing classroom decorations. I really like my sec 4 class where our theme was movie theater. Nigel popped real popcorns and it was really fun to do the entire layout as a class!

96) Sports daaaaay!

97) Inter-class competition! My upper sec class is full of netballers and we always got second because there are other classes that are full of netballers too. HAHAHA!

98) Not having to decide what to wear to school for the next day cos it's simply uniform!

99) Tying my hair with scrunchies cos I used to love those fuzzy hair ties.

100) I really miss everything about High School and would love to be young again and cherish all about it!

Happiness

It's the beginning of day 6 of the year. I've been feeling really happy since the start and it's been a good journey so far.

This year is going to be a year of new discovery and I believe, growing up and seeing more of the world. Way more than what I have seen as a teenager.

The road never ends but each turn I make is the beginning of a new journey. I'm really glad for the decisions I have made so far in life and I'm really looking forward to what will come and set forth this new walk of journey.

I am really excited for 2015.

Day 1.

The beginning of the new year means new discoveries and the probable beginning of happiness instead of a road full of bumps and rockiness.

One thing I wish to do this year will be to account for my daily happenings through this blog. Sometimes I read back on my past entries (those in 2005 ~ 2008) where I used to blog a lot more than my once or twice per year now, and really do get amazed at how much things have changed for me as well as how I have grown as a person.

Soooooo, day one of 2015...

Let me begin with the last day of 2014,

Met up with Phyllis, Mandy, Wei Zhe and Christa for countdown! Was dying to see the fireworks and loggers joined us and I was really happy for Daphne and Cheryl cos we kinda wanna see the fireworks. We ran around The Central and managed to catch a glimpse of it. That was a pretty fun and crazy moment because the joy was seeing that little glimpse of it. Wouldn't be able to see it without them running with me ;)

Christa Mandy Phyllis & I ended up going around CBD area from CQ > Raffles > City Hall > Raffles > Dhoby > Somerset to drink with Manz friends followed by simpang. Definitely enjoyed my day.

Boo! Happy New Year before the day ends.

Last Day of 2014

Hello!

It's the last day of 2014! So much has happened in a short one year. Be it studies, relationships and all that revolves around LIFE. Everything happens for a reason and I am indeed thankful for all.

Yes, it hasn't been a smooth journey but I really embrace every moment of it. Everything was a new discovery and every moment meant something.

Sometimes I just want to announce to the world how blessed I am. I may not be the perfect human being but I'm really thankful for those who loved me and accepted me for who I am. I have a family who dote on me so much that I feel like I have everything in the world. They are the greatest gift I would have ever received. That's why if people ask me what I want, sometimes I also don't know how to reply. Hahah!

And yes, not only my family but my bestfriend, Beaunice. Someone that we could be away for months not even speaking a word to each other and knowing that we will be here for each other whenever we need a ear or a shoulder or even a trip out of the country. This year in March, we did the craziest thing by going Bangkok on our own for a day of shopping and returning home the very night. It was such a memorable day :') and definitely not our last trip together!

2014 also means the end of EXCO13/14 and the beginning of EXCO14/15. I really enjoyed every moment of being an EXCO and definitely going to make my final 5 months worthwhile and do the best that I can. Honestly, nobody would ever understand what it is like to be running this union. Everything we do begin with passion. I have many friends asking me "why are you doing this for?", "what for you put in so much effort for this." and really... All sorts of questions bombarded at me. It's not easy to explain passion. But all I can say is that everyone is passionate about something. You may not have found it yet, but one day you will.

Dancers dance all day and night because they have a passion in dancing.
Athletics can run everyday to strengthen themselves for their passion in sports.
High academic achievers can study all day for their passion in scoring good results.

(It may not be the perfect example but I believe you do get my point)
My passion would be serving the school through Students' Union. After my term ends as a student, then.... that would be a different story ;) *winks*

Actually it's just some random thoughts I have for the night. Gotta catch some snooze! 🌙

Start of the Holidays

Starting the holiday means the start of a new family.

17 - 19 October was Orientation Leadership Training Camp to our Group Leaders as well as Subcomm members! Was also the moment I get to meet the empire that is going to journey my final year as an FA.

Am really glad that things are going really fine for the start. Am hoping this bond will keep building and we will grow stronger together as a family! ^^

OTC was a success!

Moving on, I also just came back from my trip! I thought I bought a lot until I came home and realize its quite miserable. Butbutbut, new clothes come and old clothes got to go!

Sentimental

I've always been a very sentimental person ( to my belongings ) and I hate it when my wallets start rotting. I mean spots starts growing on them. Not sure if you have seen those before.

First was my Agnes b purse and now my Kate Spade wallet which I really love cos this is the very first wallet that I spend a bomb (approx $190 which was a lot to me at that time ) for myself when I was in secondary school.
And it is in such a beautiful pink. T_T okay but now I think it is really time for it to go... *flunks into trash can*

Sometimes I don't know why I like to hold things so closely to me. And it makes me really annoyed at myself for keeping all those junks at home.

Anyway it's been really long since I've done up a post. Hopefully I'll be more frequent soon! :D

Saturday BBQ

Had a really great alone-time in the afternoon. Starting off my day at 12:30pm to meet my buyers around Tampines before heading to Stadium MRT station where I got an eye-opening experience seeing how K-pop fandom was like. Well, I'm never a crazy fan of anything so it is really eye opening for me! Seeing how crazy people get together over pop stars. (Even when the idols are not at the scene) And here's second part of my day.. went over to Wayne's house for BBQ with my committee! In fact, it totally feels like a KBBQ meal and we smoked up his kitchen quite a bit. But anyway, Thanks for the treat and accommodation, Wayne! Hope he did get a little surprise from us and his loved one~ And yes, it felt like KBBQ cos we all went home smelling like KBBQ. HAHAHA

And here's the mandatory group shot! *adds felicia into the picture*

My birthday

Hihi,

Ok, apologies for a super late thank you post. Actually I just really wanna thank the people who made my 18th birthday such a pleasant one. Grunge, EXCOs, Mithio and most importantly, my family.

Had a gathering at Lester's place, well didn't expect the surprise which they waited till 12am to give! Anyway happy belated birthday to my dearie wanwen & chunhoe too ! ^^ They used candles and made a heart, btw HB CLW stands for happy birthday chunhoe, me and wanwen.

And this bitch who lied to me that he was grounded and appeared anyway. Thanks for the cupcakes although I didn't get to eat any of it cos we left it at Lester's place. HAHAHA.Ultimate love for all your effort!
<3

So here's the cake from Grunge!
<3

And the lovely excos ( that we didn't take photo with that night T_T ) , gave me another surprise. It's really unexpected and they actually lied to make me stay. Hahahaha. Love you guys and thanks so much ! The cake was GOOOOOD. ( you know where to get it now * points to the brand logo * )
<3

And then I went home to another cake. I love how my family never fail to celebrate each of our birthday each year. Despite the fact that my birthday falls on the first day of 7th month, ( which by right, i'm not suppose to celebrate my birthday, I guess it'll probably attract the souls to me ) , they celebrated for me nonetheless.
 <3

And the celebration I swear I was caught off guard was from mithio. Dex and I was walking towards the table they were seated at, and he was kind of blocking my view and I didn't bother looking out for mithio cos I couldn't see, and bom! They presented me with my fav cheese cake! The cake was damn good ! Thanks so much my dears ! Really appreciate it !

Hahaha and they rojak some random weird stuff and made me eat it. I took a bite... mmm, I cannot describe the taste. HAHAHA.

And here is a GIF to end my post !

Once again, thanks to everyone who celebrated for me, wished me and gave me presents!
